R Kelly Dropped from Record label.

R. Kelly and his record company Sony are no longer cooperating with each other.

The record label decided this following all the allegations of R. Kelly that came in the news after the new Documentary appeared ‘Surviving R. Kelly’. Several women have accused the singer of sexual abuse. Some have shared their story in the new documentary.

Last week people had gathered in front of Sony’s headquarters in New York. They demanded that the record label stopped working with R. Kelly.

The now 52-year-old singer signed a contract at the beginning of his career, this was in the nineties. The record label was then called Jive. However, Jive later became part of Sony. Because of this R. Kelly has been under contract of RCA, of the Sony label since 2012

 

Several artists spoke out against R. Kelly.

Several artists have already spoken out against R. Kelly in the last few weeks. Furthermore, some artist such as Lady Gaga and Celine Dion even had the songs they made with R. Kelly removed from streaming services.

Ex-manager of R. Kelly turned himself in.

Last Friday, the former manager of R. Kelly even turned himself in to the police. The manager was accused of threatening the relatives of alleged victims of the singer.

Furthermore, in the state of Georgia there is currently a criminal investigation into R. Kelly. However, the singer denies all the allegations.You can read more about this here.
