Bush was president in the Whitehouse during the years 1989 to 1993. He was the father of George W. Bush Who later also became a president of the united states of America. George W. bush was president from 2001 to 2009.
During his term as president some major events had happened. He served as president during the Cold War and the First Gulf War. Due to his leadership during the Gulf War popularity figures of the president rose to 90 percent. However, he later got accused of neglecting domestic politics.
During his campaign for presidency in 1988, Bush had promised that there wouldn’t be any new taxes. However, in 1992 Bush broke that promise when the government introduced new taxes. The reason for the new taxes was because The American economy had fallen drastically. Later, Bush was not re-elected for a second president’s term. He had lost the election against the Democrat Bill Clinton. Bill had won with 370 electoral votes against 168 for Bush.
For a long time, bush had been struggling with health problems. Earlier this year he was admitted to a hospital because of low blood pressure and constant fatigue he also suffered from Parkinson’s disease. Furthermore, in April he also got a blood infection this happened one day after the funeral of his wife Barbara.
Despite his deteriorating health, George H. W. Bush remained active well into old age. He even celebrated his 90th birthday with parachute jumps.
